Chronic losses, margins falling as low-quality dairy revenue balloons the balance sheet — negative working capital makes BRFH uninvestable now.

Revenue $14.2M · FY2025

Barfresh screens as a growth story on the surface — FY2025 revenue of $14.2M grew 32.6% YoY and the legacy smoothie franchise has genuine channels (USDA school meal programs, DLA-approved sales into 100+ military bases). But the quality of that growth is the problem. Gross profit fell 15.1% to $3.11M even as revenue jumped a third, collapsing gross margin to 21.9%. The MD&A explains why: the October 2025 Arps Dairy acquisition now has the Company 'selling raw and processed milk to a single customer' — commodity, low-margin, single-customer revenue that inflates the top line while diluting profitability. The company has lost money every year on record (FY2021–FY2025), carrying a -$66.3M accumulated deficit, and FY2025 still posted a -$2.69M net loss, -24.2% operating margin and -202.6% ROE.

The balance sheet is where this crosses from 'unprofitable growth' to 'not investable.' The Arps deal exploded total liabilities 319.7% to $11.5M against just $1.33M of equity — an 8.65x liabilities/equity ratio. Worse, current liabilities of $11.0M dwarf current assets of $4.23M, a current ratio of ~0.38 and a roughly $6.8M working-capital deficit. Operating cash flow was -$1.67M. The Risk Factors are candid that continued losses may leave 'working capital insufficient' and that financing may not be available 'on acceptable terms, or at all' — classic going-concern-adjacent language for a company with a thin equity cushion and a negative current ratio.
