A $0.48 bitcoin-fintech microcap with $7.65M cash against a $16M annual burn — real growth, but a funding cliff you can't underwrite.

Cash & equivalents $7.65M · FY2025

Fold is a bitcoin consumer-finance platform (debit/credit cards, custody, gift cards, a bitcoin-treasury strategy) that came public via SPAC merger. The operating story isn't the problem: FY2025 revenue grew 33.9% to $31.8M, and the operating loss is narrow (operating margin -9.2%, improving), so the core product lines are approaching breakeven. The -$69.6M net loss and -218.9% net margin are dominated by non-operating items, not the business running money into the ground on operations.

The balance sheet is the problem, and it's disqualifying. Cash fell 58.3% to just $7.65M while operating cash flow was -$16.1M — that is roughly five to six months of runway before another raise. Current assets ($18.1M) are below current liabilities ($21.1M), so working capital is already negative, and the accumulated deficit is -$171M. With only 49.8M shares and the stock at $0.48, any equity raise to bridge the burn is deeply dilutive from a $24M market cap; shares are already up 6.3% YoY. That the company paid $117M for buybacks in FY2024 while now scraping bottom on cash underscores capital-allocation whiplash tied to the merger.
