A shrinking micro-cap that finally hit breakeven, trading barely above its $2.94/share cash pile — deep value, but no growth yet.
Cash & equivalents $50.9M · FY2025
IZEA is best understood as a balance-sheet story wearing a turnaround costume. FY2025 revenue fell 12.9% to $31.2M — the third straight annual decline from the $41.1M FY2022 peak — as the new CEO (Patrick Venetucci, appointed Sept 2024) executed a 'strategic realignment': divesting Hoozu, cutting product and marketing headcount, and centralizing sales into a North American hub. The payoff shows in the P&L: net income swung from -$18.9M in FY2024 to essentially breakeven (+$42.3K) in FY2025, operating loss narrowed 90.5% to -$1.86M, and operating cash flow turned positive at $2.43M. That's real cost discipline, but 'profitability' here still rests on getting smaller, not growing, and the business is still operating-loss-making at the line.
The reason this is a hold and not an avoid is the fortress balance sheet. IZEA carries $50.9M in cash against just $9K of debt and $8.56M of total liabilities (liabilities/equity 0.17x). Cash alone is $2.94/share versus a $3.65 price, so the market is paying only ~$12M of enterprise value for a $31M-revenue managed-services franchise — an EV/sales near 0.4x despite the headline P/S of 2.0x. The downside is genuinely cushioned by liquidity, and the newly-formed Strategy and Capital Allocation Committee (with GP Investments' Bonchristiano and Boscolo on the board) raises the odds of buybacks or accretive M&A given the cash hoard dwarfs the operating needs.
